Introduction

We expect all applicants for jobs with Creative Support to have had at least their first COVID-19 vaccination prior to your first interview and to be committed to having the second vaccination before starting work with us.

This applies to all employees, Volunteers and interns (including bank workers).

The Reason for this Policy

We are very much aware of the effectiveness of vaccination against COVID-19 in reducing transmission of the virus, reducing the severity of infection, minimizing the need for hospitalization and reducing the risk of death. In ensuring that staff in social care are vaccinated is the single most important measure we can take to reduce the impact of COVID-19 and to protect our staff and vulnerable clients.

The government has introduced legislation to make it mandatory for staff working in care homes to be vaccinated as of 1 October 2021.

In addition, there are many activities in society that now require proof of vaccination, including sporting events, live performances, theatres, cinemas and night clubs, holidays and foreign travel. Our staff may be required to support Clients participation in community activities and that will require that they are vaccinated to keep everyone safe.

Staff With Both Vaccinations

Staff who had the vaccination and the booster will be asked to provide proof.

What if I have had the first Vaccination Only

Staff who have had their first vaccination, will be asked to provide proof and to confirm that they intend to have the second vaccination as soon as it is possible.

Those who have not had their second vaccination will be encouraged and persuaded to do so. The only exception who have been prevented from having the second vaccination for medical reasons, confirmed by your GP.
