All services shall be based on a 24-hour care and support including emergency on call for continuous care for staff and clients. Manager shall be on duty also during Out of Hours every day of the week including weekends and bank holidays.
On-call services shall be staffed by appropriately qualified and experienced senior staff to advise on all issues within our care and support services.
When required the Emergency services like fire, ambulance or police, shall be contacted. Training in understanding the appropriate use of emergency services will be carried out for all staff. There will be regular consultations and contact with community services like the Community Mental Health Teams, social services, emergency duty team, NHS Direct, GP and others as required. Issues regarding vulnerable adults or children are immediately notified to the local authority.

Training will be made available for staff to enable them acquire skills to communicate in a positive and supportive way.
Service users care plan shall be based on their individual needs and preferences, through assessments and reviews.

Failings in the service provision can also be identified and corrected through complaints and suggestions.
Our complaints policy is vital to quality of care. Service users, carers and others would be encouraged to use our procedure.
The complaints procedure can be used by contacting the Complaints Manager. This can be done by telephone, email, letter and also by completing the online complaints form. All complaints received will be issued with a complaints reference number and acknowledged in writing within five working days of receipt.
When appropriate any complaint can be directed to the care worker involved and if unresolved satisfactorily can be forwarded to Service Manager or the Complaints Manager, whose contact details shall be displayed on the Public Notice, website and in Complaints information pack given to all Services users and their families, carers and all users of the Policy.
Rees Healthcare is committed to safeguarding those we support. All staff will be attending Safeguarding training if not already done so, and shall receive supervision. All Service users, family members and carers will be provided with safeguarding information and the important areas discussed with them in care meeting.
Where there are concerns, we will always inform the local authority and utilize advocacy service.
Rees Healthcare will ensure that staff members will comply with health and safety legislation, regulation, policies and procedures. We will ensure that staff have the necessary Personal Protective Equipment should these be required, particularly in the area of personal care. All staff members will attend Rees Healthcare’s relevant induction and refresher safety training. The training will include health and safety, moving and handling, first aid and food hygiene. Staff will also attend infection control training.
